Tip #2 How to Talk with Your Salesforce Admin
Scrolling Tip: Move Fields to Their Own Tab on a Record Page
One of my clients uses the BANT (Budget Authority Need Timing) method as part of their qualification process for opportunities. The SDRs create the opportunities and pass them off to the Sales Team once they meet certain criteria (BANT) that they document on the opportunity record. It’s important information but it’s not something the Sales Rep needs to scroll through every time they are on the record page of an opportunity. However, they do need to reference the information from time to time.
Your Salesforce records may have a similar situation. While important, it may not be necessary to scroll through all the time to see certain data points. Your admin can move these fields to their own tab on the record page layout. This accomplishes 2 things - saves on scroll time and gives you the exact place to look for those import fields when you need them.
So how do you get this in your Salesforce environment?
First, assess which fields you occasionally need to see or access. Is it a logical grouping such as the BANT scenario for my client?
Second, ask your admin to create a tab on the page layout for the group of fields. They will need to create a quick action which they can then add to the tabs section of the page layout.
Third, enjoy less scrolling and quick page loads.
